Day 10: Favorite TV Show:Greys Anatomy

I love love love this show. I love that there are so many minorities in the cast. I love my girl Callie and Yang. Its just a great show. My favorite character was George. His humor, wit and goofiness always amused me. Jeff and I watch it together and it just might be the one show we agree on as a must watch.

Outside of this show, I love my reality TV. Jersey Shore, Real Housewives, Teen Mom, Intervention, The Real L Word. It can definitely be too much at times. I’d be lost without my beloved DVR.

Day 11: Family Pet or if you don’t have one [like me] take a picture of anything.

Cowboy and I went to a wedding yesterday. 10/10/10… My MIL didn’t inform me of the dress code so hubs and I were definitely overdressed. There were very few that were wearing ties, but mama always said its better to be overdressed than underdressed. Do I really need an excuse to paint my face and wear false eyelashes? LOL! I wanted to wear my hair up [read:lazy] since I didn’t know if it was going to be indoors or out or if the A/C was going to be working. Hubs wanted the magical curls. You see who won that debate…I scored one of those EZ comb things at Ross for $2.99. Sold!

    IMAG0242

I love this dress. I wore it to a Christmas dinner with Cowboy when we were dating and I wore it to my stepbrother’s wedding as well. It’s so fall and so elegant. It even has some of that floofy stuff at the bottom to make it “extra fancy”. LOLOL!

    IMAG0244-1

A close-up of the makeup. My cousin’s wife admired my banging brows on facebook. MAC’s Lingering, ladies. But that Maybelline Define a Brow is a very close dupe. I’ll have to do a comparison video so you all can see the minimal difference.

    IMAG0255

The handsome husband. Note the plaid shirt worn by one of the guests in the background. Gotta love redneck weddings.

    IMAG0256

Finally, the good stuff. LOL! My MIL had this stowed away in her liquor cabinet. TX Vodka? It’s delicious, I promise! It’s made in Austin, Jess!

  • October photoblog challenge day 9

    Somewhere you went today…

My mom is back in school and needed my help researching for her English paper. When I was in school I like to claim that I shit bricks of gold. I wrote quickly and didn’t need to spend too much time editing my work. I’m sure nowadays schools pay even less attention to things like word choice, grammar, punctuation. But, I do as I’m told and I came to work with her on finding articles/books to help her paper along. They’re doing it in stages. Her sources are due this week, and bibliography isn’t needed for another two weeks. I don’t remember getting this much guidance, but whatevs. It’s working, right?

    IMAG0227

My mom is so organized. Look at all her school supplies!

    IMAG0228

Privacy is a luxury at this library, right?

    IMAG0229

    Plenty of natural light.

    IMAG0230

My mom’s young classmate. They’re so cute.

    IMAG0231

Finally my hot mama. I begged her not to wear these jeans, but *sigh*… she wouldn’t listen. They are looking a lil worn/stained. And white stains on jeans… you get the picture… Love you mama!

  • October Photoblog Challenge Day 8

Something you dislike – For me, it’s bad customer service. I love going out to eat and I do tip generously, but when I get bad customer service, it’s a bit ridiculous. If you’re not feeling it, don’t come in. No need for your bad attitude to ruin my evening. I’ve never done anything like what is pictured above, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t wanted to. Make sure I have plenty to drink, that my order is right, and if you need help, please ask.

  • Day 6: Your humble abode
  • Psh. This will be an IOU. When I move into my brother’s house, I’ll take pics then. My tiny 1 bedroom apt isn’t photoblog worthy. But I do love shoes, so how about some pics of my favorites to sub in here?

    IMAG0220

I wore these on Tuesday. They have the cutest lil ruffle design on them. Love!

    IMAG0226

Today’s I’m sporting these. They’re my favorite pair of flats.

Day 7: Something you ate today

Going to the gym means making better eating choices right? Don’t want to be working out for nothing, lol. So today’s breakfast was a protein shake with some banana thrown in for good measure. It’s so yum, I promise….

    IMAG0224

See? Almost done. The protein is chocolate flavored and with a banana? Heaven!

  • October Photoblog Challenge Days 4-5

Obviously I suck at this challenge and can’t blog every single day. Too many things. That and going to the gym exhausts me. Good thing is that hubs is back on his husbandly duties, !

    ·

Day 4: A representation of your day – what do you do?

I work for the #1 brand in the US. Its pretty awesome…

Day 5: What’s in your bag? Or something you can’t leave the house without

    HPIM0826

What’s hilarious about this is that I carry a small purse but still manage to pack 4 lip products, lol. Guess that’s why my lips are so kissable, evidence below…. The can’t leave the house without item is my mytouch slide phone. Its perfect for camwhoring, facebook stalking, e-mail, and of course google mapping.  As for the lip products, I have a Maybelline lipstick in Rebel Rose, it’s a frosty pink, next to it is MAC’s Of Royalty, (love this pink), Nivea Kiss of moisture for lip suppleness, Maybelline Superstay 24 concealer, perfect for my undereye circles due to lack of sleep. Next to that is Loreal’s Lip plumper ins 106. Love this color and its gold sparkles. And of course since I’m going to the gym, I need a hair thing. My purse is a pink Coach purse with my Fifa Trophy Tour key chain. I’m so company proud!

    Lips

Evidence my soft kissable lips. Felt under the weather over the weekend — sinus hell — but still put make-up on.

  • October Photoblog Challenge Day 2/3

    bex

Someone you adore and 5 reasons why.

    For me it’s my niece.

    1. She is lovely.

    2. She reminds me that we were all once a clean slate. Void of judgement, opinions, negative attitudes about ourselves or others.

    3. She paints my face with a smile.

    4. She is very protective of her brothers and knows how lucky she has to be surrounded by family.

    5. I love hearing her stories. They’re filled with all these magical places and are so funny.

Day 3, something you bought today…

    photochallenge

I was feeling a bit under the weather and makeup splurges always bring a quick smile to my face. I popped into Ulta for my latest binge. I purchased NYX’s Champagne and Caviar Palette. It’s so beautiful. Neutral, fall and lovely. I bought Maybelline’s Define a Brow Pencil in light brown which is hauntingly similar to Mac’s Lingering and under $4. Such a deal! I also had to get Maybelline’s The Falsies Mascara. My cousin recommended it and we all know I love long lush lashes. This is a great formula. Hiding in the background is Georgio Armani’s Acua di Gio. This smell is so light and girly. I love it’s sweet scent.

    champagne

Here’s a closeup of the palette, but it’s much prettier in person. Thank goodness they don’t keep Urban Decay’s Naked Palette in stock. But this was a nice substitute.

    lipsticks

I didn’t buy all these yesterday, but they are my recent lipstick purchases. From left to right we have Revlon’s Soft Nude. Mac’s Of Royalty, a beautiful pink, Jazzed, another cremesheen love. On the Scene Cremesheen glass.

  • October Photoblog Challenge

Sometimes we need a lil inspiration. I’m needing some, and this challenge seemed perfection.

Day 1: Self portrait – share basics/make an intro.

    2010-06-12 12.09.37

I’m a lil bit saucy. Ok very saucy all the time. I paint myself in colors often. Bright pink lips? Yes please. Bitch brow? You know it. Fasle lashes? When I have the patience. I’m more confident when my face is painted just right. Don’t mess with this diva.

    IMAG0060

I like my nails painted in bright colors. They tickle the keys that much better when they’re bright/bold.

    CIMG1884

    Saucy.

    CIMG1733.JPG

I appreciate the tranquil changes in season.

    2009-11-06 16.59.29

I don’t like pimples on my chin, but xanga can see all my flaws.

    Poppin

    Pink is my favorite color.

    Nawlins 029.JPG

I am married to an old soul. He takes care of me when I’m sick.

    Change

Change is inevitable. We must all adapt.

    CIMG1334

  • Leaving on a jet plane

My stepbrother is getting married. A couple weeks ago he asked me for some last minute advice. I liked what I wrote so much so here it is:

Last second advice? Be sure to tell your bride how beautiful she is the moment you see her walk down that aisle. She’ll remember it forever. Not too much drinking at the reception. Some guests aka Rey/Ren/Rey’s friends were doing shots with my lightweight groom at our reception and I had to drive his truck, in my wedding dress, to my mom’s house to pick up my overnight bag.  So if you’re staying in a hotel the wedding night, be sure that bag is there before things get crazy. Other than that, the rest is easy.

As for marriage advice, being married has taught me more about myself than I ever thought it would. Good things and bad. Its like having a giant mirror in front of you all the time. Never lose faith, hope, or desire to be a better husband. Cara’s a lucky girl and I’m glad I get to be there to witness your wedding.

Awwww.. right? I haven’t visited my Dad in VA for at least two years so I’m really looking forward to the change in weather, family time and time away from work. LOL. I have a major blog to post on that, I’ll probably post from the airport.

Things are going well in my neck of the woods. The gym is still going on. We did body pump Monday aka kill me now, my quads still hurt and yesterday was Zumba aka dance like you’re at the club in front of people. There was one guy that was absolutely freaking priceless. Sideway backwards hat, white boy dance moves, just HILARIOUS! He was definitely going that extra mile and it was absolute comedy. The teacher brought some hood beats in and when Lollipop by Lil Wayne came on, she wanted us to shake our money makers. I had to stop myself from pointing at that one guy the entire song. She’s not the normal instructor, so I’m going to have to find out when/where she teaches because her class was awesome.

    Vacation mode has begun.

  • Gym Rat

Sometimes I feel like a bi-polar maniac. (No offense to those that are) I’m all over the place. I got over myself and gave hubs a fabulous birthday dinner. He enjoyed it and I let him be a bit of a birthday brat. His mom didn’t attend and that was present enough for me. I only want to see her grace her with my presence on big holidays like Christmas, Mothers Day, Thanksgiving and any other day of my choosing. Looks like I might have two more months of freedom. Anywho, I’ve been kicking butt ass at work! Momentum has been building and I’m loving it. I think I’m going to have to credit going to the gym. There’s a sense of accomplishment in getting healthy that just spills over to work. It’s great. I’m happier in the morning. Then again, it could also be because it’s Friday. Ha!

So back to going to the gym. My favorite co-worker and I are going together and it is so much fun. She pushes me and I hope I make her laugh with my antics. I think the funny thing is that you really have to train your body to knowing that working out feels good. It’s not painful, or hard or something else miserable. I’ve been having fun. We are trying to go to a group exercise class but haven’t had a chance yet. All that work stuff gets in the way. LOL!

I have such a funny picture to share, but I need hubs to send it. My niece put make-up on me. My older brother/family are moving overseas by December. I’m not going to have too many moments before then and this one was too good to pass up. She saw my make-up bag and asked to put make-up on me. “Tia Lorie, close your eyes! Ok, Beautiful!” She is sooo cute. I’m so going to miss that lil angel.

This weekend will be dedicated to girly maintenance. My eyebrows need it, so do my feet, nails. One of my favorite gfs is going with me and I can hardly wait to hear all of her single girl dish. Should be juicy. I also plan on hitting the gym again. Time to up my game, ladies.

  • Hubs bday

After that last entry, I guess this is the balancing act for me. My bday blew. I would’ve wanted a big celebration, dinner with friends/family, something. I got what-a-burger for my bday. No card, or flowers. My birthday present came a week later. It just sucked. We were on vacation together the week before, and ugh, that’s when most of the trouble in paradise started. Fast forward to Cowboy’s bday today and its like I’m not motivated to do anything. Least of all have dinner where he wants with his mama. Ugh. Trying not to be ugly, but its like I’m headed that way whether I like it or not. Earlier on the phone he just sounded sneaky like he was trying to plan his day so I’d be forced to go to dinner with that awful woman and I’m so not falling for it. Where is he going with his mom you might ask? The cemetery to visit his grandmother. I’m so confused. Who wants to do that on their birthday. I feel like this is his mother’s doing. Her influence and thats what bugs me most.
