  • Vixen Unleashed

These past few months I’ve been dealing with not liking the girl I saw in pictures of yesteryear. I look at those pictures and yes, I don’t recognize myself. I see a person that didn’t care about herself. She was a facade, a shell. Her confidence wasn’t genuine. She wasn’t happy. I finally talked to my Mom about it and she had the perfect words in response.

“You didn’t see the person you were in the mirror. The person you saw was what you look like now. This is who you believed you were.”

That’s the girl that made the decision to change. I’m very proud of her for having the courage, the strength and the desire to be better. This surgery has changed my life, my marriage, even my work life. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. I’m super proud of my husband and his ongoing progress. We’re doing it together. The closer I get to goal weight the more scared I get. I’m scared to try for kids. I want them and I’ve been in training recently, playing with my friend’s kids and I’m amazed at how smart and kind they are.

All that said, I present my inner vixen. This is who I see when I look in the mirror. I love you guys and thank you for following me on my journey. I’m not done yet.
