  • Date night

I came home and Jefferson was messing with the front door. I usually get nervous whenever he does anything house related, ie fix something. He told me that the front door deadbolt lock broke. ?!? I had no clue what that meant, but basically the core of the lock came with the key when he pulled it out and pieces went everywhere. Since it was already after 5, I wanted him to try and take it to a locksmith to repair so while I showered for date night, he took the lock and left. By the time I was out of the shower/make-up done, he was done with it. He said the locksmith had closed, but he took it to our local Ace Hardware. I officially love that store. He bought a new deadbolt and then asked the cashier if they rekeyed locks and for an add’l five buckaroos they rekeyed the lock to match the other locks we have in the house. Ace, I love  you. I’m sure that’s not super complicated to do, given the cost, but I’m still amazed. LOL!

After he showered (it’s hot down here, y’all), we went to dinner. Of course, he usually complains that I always want to eat somewhere far, but I had a gift card for Cheesecake Factory and there aren’t any close by. He’d never been there and I was excited to dress up for my man and go to dinner. Lately, I love to show off my guns. LOL! Our waitress was really nice and made some great suggestions. I love having lovely waitresses. We ended up ordering burgers which cracks me up, but they were sooo good! Even so, I could only eat half before feeling like I’d had way too much to eat. We ordered the tiramisu cheesecake for dessert to go and went back home. OMG, that was soo good! As we were leaving, we eyed the other desserts and the carrot cake was huge. Boo for dessert regret.

It was so nice to sit and talk to my husband over dinner. We see each other every day, but our work/work-out schedules usually have us eating at different times. We were mainly discussing vacation plans for next week. Just a short trip, but I really want to go to New Orleans again. The weather report has me thinking twice though. Boo! It hasn’t been raining here much so I was expecting it to be the same there, but there are high chances of thunderstorms, which could be good,  but I know even I will get stir crazy. I really want to explore the city since my last visit was mostly drinking, drinking, and lusting for a pool (our hotel didn’t have one). So far the hotels I’ve been eyeing are pet friendly and the quarter is perfect for dog walking. I’m crossing my fingers the weather changes. Plan B is Austin which I love, but I wanted to go to New Orleans.

My kid brother graduated from high school. I’m such a proud sister. Pics were taken, but I haven’t received them from my aunt yet. My make-up was flawless! We visited our Lake Jackson friends over the weekend. I missed Chelsea so much. Their kids are so cute! Her husband asked me, “Why aren’t you making make-up videos anymore?” I don’t know what make-up tips he needs, but isn’t that silly? Creepy too, but I’m still laughing.

  • I love the Cheesecake factory but lemme be honest… I always just get the Orange Chicken. LOL!

  • @maandsaint - And you know I love Asian food. Hubs gives me grief over it, so I stuck to the burger. I’ll have to get that next time! Any dessert recommendations?

  • My husband and I hardly ever get to go out and I never get to dress up anymore.  Comes with having two kids.  If we are lucky we get one Saturday night a month that the kids are not here.  We had planned to make that a date night, but most of the time something comes up.  I’m getting date nights back, though.  I miss it.
