In n Out...of the hospital :(
Ok, so I felt sick last week. Uncomfortable pain. So not pleasant. I told my boss, and he let me go home, but asked me to go to the doctor. So, on my way home, I did. The doc did some bloodwork, sent me home with a prescription, etc.
The next day, aka last Thursday, they called me at work with the result from the bloodwork. They wanted me to come in again. The pain wasn't as bad as before, but I had pancreatitis again. Whee! The doc wanted to admit me again and do another ERCP (just for funzies).
I didn't get nervous until they mentioned they wanted to do some tests. I heard CT scan, x-ray. I wasn't scared until I made the mistake of asking the technician what a CT scan is used for. "It's to look for mass." (As in Cancer mass) Fantastic!
The scans came back clean, but the scare remained. He still did the procedure but didn't find any lingering stones. He chalked it up to me having too much fun in Nawlins, and the rich food that is so yummy there. Boo for having fun!
Anywho, I say all that to also bring up something else. I got a strange phone call from my ins. company. It was a nurse and she wanted me to call back. I did. She asked some questions, about my visits to the hospital, etc. She mentioned Crohns disease. I told her I had not been diagnosed with that, ever, and that I feel fine.
I talked to Daisy last night, and I mentioned the convo with the helpful nurse. She told me, "That's not good." As in, I guess insurance companies do investigations as to how much of a risk u are, etc. Doesn't that just feel slightly misleading? A nurse calls to "check" on me, when really she's investigating? Do no harm comes to mind. I hope this isn't one more thing to worry about, but we'll see, right?

What's the insurance company going to do? Kick you off their insurance? What a strange phonecall!
@maandsaint - I'm hoping they don't/can't. I guess I always assumed work insurance kept u protected no matter what.
I'm so sorry you're sick again!! Boo! I'm very glad to hear that everything came back ok though, that must be a relief.
That's totally shitty. Insurance companies really only care about themselves, and don't they realize that people who are legitimate insurance liabilities probably have bigger issues than dealing with the insurance company? Cripes.
I'm glad everything has come back clean so far.
And believe me, I feel you on the insurance stuff. I haven't had a ticket since I was 17 years old (it'll be 7 years this Fourth of July) and have only ever been involved in ONE accident (and it was an accident and the circumstances truly were out of my control), and that was this March in our manual Saturn. However, my SUV has been hit by an unknown flying object during a wind storm once when my hubby was driving it and I was not even near it (100% not at fault), and then my hubby was driving (I was a passenger) and we were rear-ended violently in a hit-and-run (the cops eventually found the offenders and they paid up 100%), and then I had a chip in my windshield from a rock that kicked up (again, 100% NOT MY FAULT) and when the auto glass guy came he told me he couldn't repair it because it wasn't big enough and then the insurance company charged me $55 for the "consult." Anyway, long story short: those three incidences that are 100% NOT MY FAULT made my husband and me (Doug has no tickets but had one car totaled in 2006 where he hit a pole so he WAS at fault) uninsurable by most people. Are you kidding me? I am a safe driver who's had some really really fucking bad luck and UGH! It made me so mad.
I hope you're feeling better, chica!
*Hugs* I'm sorry. I hope you're feeling better and they figure out what is going on....instead of this unknown stuff.
@jaki_o - It is a relief. No more hospital! LOL
@AreYouThereGodItsMeEmilyC - My husband is hilarious. He called my car ins company today to get a quote. Then he leaves me a msg thinking he's all cute that adding him to my policy would decrease my policy cost by $10, and adding him would only be blah blah blah. Like i want to add him to my policy. Ugh! I've only filed one claim on my ins, and that was when my apt gate hit my car. Ugh!
@X_naomi_X - I am feeling better. So much better. And I think I'm NOT going to talk to the nurse if she calls back again. Just feels sleazy.
@Femme003 - The unknown is definitely too much.
